In reading "Technology: A Catalyst for Teaching and Learning in the Classroom," the article provides both positive and negative reactions towards the use of technology in today's classroom. Regardless of the negative reactions, however, technology is growing in our world and we must focus on the ethical and legal issues of such usage. Legally, the article states that teachers must inform their students about the proper usage of technology and they must observe their students to ensure that they are practicing safe technology usage. Teachers must also make sure that their students are crediting any information that they are getting from a technological source in order to ensure that copyright laws are not being infringed.
In regards to ethical issues, the article states that technology can be both helpful as well as harmful to students if appropriate observance methods are not taken carefully. Technology is an excellent way for students to expand their knowledge and to gain a greater education using more various learning styles. Teachers, however, must not rely soley on technology, for the article states that a teacher/student interaction must still be present.
